Hawks-Magic Game six

It looks like it will come down to the wire for Game Six of the series with Atlanta and Orlando. As of right now, a clutch offensive rebound ricocheted out to Jamal Crawford. Marvin Williams missed a wide open three from the left side as the shot clock wound down. Atlanta is up by a point with time winding down. Joe tipped the rebound out, Jamal grabbed it, and forced the Magic to foul. Jamal nailed both of the foul shots, so the Magic are down by three with just over eight seconds left. If the Hawks can hang on, it’ll be a good, gutty victory after getting blown out in game five. The Hawks had a decent lead, but two consecutive lay-ups by Jameer Nelson brought Orlando down to one. Okay, the Magic just missed a tie as JJ Redick missed a three. But Al stepped out of bounds on the rebound, giving the Magic another shot with just under two seconds left. I already gave my scouting report for a potential Bulls-Hawks Round 2 series, so I won’t go into that here. Joe Johnson led Atlanta with 23, and Jamal had 19 off the bench. The out of bounds play for the Magic didn’t amount to anything, and the Hawks advance by sweeping all games in Atlanta, and stealing one on the road, which is what you have to do as the road team. For Orlando, Dwight Howard had 25, and Hedo Turkoglu actually showed up and scored 15. Confetti rained from the ceiling at Philips Arena, and it looked like the place was filled. The fact that such a pivotal game drew a big crowd quite possibly could be the best news of all. Game One with the Bulls starts Sunday in Chicago. I may be covering a softball tourney in McDonough, but I’ll try to break away and catch some of the game. Congrats Atlanta on a gritty series win over a team that you had some success against, but what waits will be somewhat harder.
