Chicago Gets Beat Up In The Bosh Pit

The Miami Heat took control of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday night, handing the Bulls a 96-85 defeat, and taking a 2-1 series lead. All of the talk coming into this series was about the Chicago defense, the NBA MVP Derrick Rose, and Miami’s two superstars, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade. The star of the night, however, was Chris Bosh, who played what was probably his best game in a Heat uniform. It wasn’t just about the 34 points he put up, but his demeanor while playing was aggressive, and even angry. This was how people were expecting to see CB play when he joined forces with Wade and James back in July.
There has been no shortage of criticism thrown at the Heat in the months since the three All-Stars united and had a celebration before they ever played a game. Fans of Miami have been taking it personally and the “expert” that they are the least happy with is Charles Barkley. Chuck was really hearing it from the Heat faithful, but people in South Florida need to chill a little bit. They might not like what he says, and he has admitted that he thinks “The Decision” TV show was stupid. At the same time he has also been steadfast in his praise of DWade and LeBron, even comparing them to Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Just because Sir Charles picks against Miami doesn’t mean he is a hater. He is paid to have an opinion and never shies away from it.
So now Bosh and the rest of the Heatles can really make it hard on the Bulls with a win on Tuesday night. If Bosh continues to play with the physical presence he had on Sunday, and Wade and LBJ continue to play elite defense, I do not think that there is a scenario in which the Bulls win. Rose just doesn’t have enough guys around him that can score. Coming into the these Finals, the feeling nationally was that Chicago was a tougher team than Miami. Now between the return of Udonis Haslem and the new style of play from Bosh, it appears that the boys from South Beach are actually too strong for the Bulls.
