Schedule, Draft and TWIBN

I apologize for my lack of blogs lately, I know my die hard fans deserve more than 1 blog per month. I’ll try and maintain one a week.

The Bills 2011 schedule is out and it looks like it won’t get any easier for the Bills this year. Their opponent’s 2010 cumulative record is 137-119-0, making it the second hardest in the league.  You would think finishing 4-12 in 2010 that your following schedule would be easier. Being in the AFC East and facing the NFC East this year you’re almost guaranteed having a tough year. I’ll be looking forward for some Super Bowl revenge as the Bills face all 3 of their Super Bowl opponents. I know it’s been over 15 years since their last Super Bowl but I still enjoy wins over these teams.  With that all said this won’t matter if they don’t fix this lockout! Get it done already!

Alright, I really wanted Cam Newton, probably because he was the most talked player heading into the draft however I am excited to see what Dareus can bring to Buffalo. Marcell is 6’3″ and weighs in at 319 pounds. By no means is he a small guy but he sure moves like he is; take a look here [1].  He is exactly what Buffalo needs, their run defense was last in the league in 2010 and with a healthy Kyle Williams, running backs will have a hard time getting by these guys. In a recent interview Dareus vowed revenge to those teams that passed on him, stating:

“If I ever get a chance to play Carolina I’m going to make them pay for passing up on me,” said Dareus.“Denver I’ll get a chance to play them in the regular season (this year) and I’m going to make it hell for them every time I play against them.

“The sweet nectar of revenge right there..”

YIKES!!! I would not want this guy mad at me. Watch out Kyle Orton!

Here is a rundown of the rest of the draft,

Rd 2 [2], Pick 2 (34) Williams, Aaron DB [3]
Rd 3 [4], Pick 4 (68) Sheppard, Kelvin LB [5]
Rd 4 [6], Pick 3 (100) Searcy, Da’Norris DB [7]
Rd 4 [6], Pick 25 (122) Hairston, Chris OL [8]
Rd 5 [9], Pick 2 (133) White, Johnny RB [10]
Rd 6 [11], Pick 4 (169) White, Chris LB [12]
Rd 7 [13], Pick 3 (206) Rogers, Justin DB [14]
Rd 7 [13], Pick 42 (245) Jasper, Michael DT [15]

Buffalo certainly stacked up on D this year ( much needed ), virtually leaving the offense unchanged. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been given the reigns and I can speak on behalf of most Bills fans when I say I have faith in this guy. We’ll see Week 3 when they face the Patriots  if Fitzy can get Bills fans to BILLIEVE again!

Stevie Johnson was on the Jim Rome Radio Show yesterday talking about the upcoming season. I’m happy to report that Johnson and other players have begun working out even though they have been locked out from all workout facilities. It will be this dedication that could boost them into the playoffs.

The annual Bills trip has been set. Oct 9th against the Eagles. So watch out! Looking forward to good times, good food and Beer Bongs before 9 a.m! Thanks Miah!

  • Bills Wall of Famer Darryl Talley found out he’ll be one of 14 inductees in the College Football Hall of Fame class of 2011
  • Head coach Chan Gailey and his staff has been putting in solid hours meeting as a staff. They’ve been fine tuning their offensive and defensive  schemes while also preparing for their 2011 opponents.
  • Donte Whitner’s future continues to be up in the air, as he maintained early this month that he wants to be a Buffalo Bill.
  • The Buffalo Bills decided Wednesday that Tom Modrak no longer was an essential part of their football operation. Modrak was fired as vice  president of college scouting.
  • Bills top 5 will be back next week.

Also this week in Tom Brady looking lame news:

He's a dancing, dancing, machine!
