Astros trying to hang with the best

After a tough finish to the four game series with the Padres and a tough start against the Cards, the Astros finally get back on track.

Bud Norris pitched a gem. Pitching 8 innings and only giving up 1 hit which happened to be a home run for Lance Berkman in the 7th inning. Two wins in a row Bud and another save for Melancon. Bud is looking like he’s found his groove and boy do the Astros need a starter to find his groove. Bud seems to really like pitching against the Cards, he just needs to do this against everybody else and for the rest of the year.

Hunter Pence hit an RBI triple to continue his outstanding year. Pence is hitting .313 with 8 homers and 45 RBI’s. can you say…… ALLSTAR.

With the Astros facing a lefty, Bourn was given the night off giving Jason Bourgeois the start. Granted, Jason hasn’t played in every game nor has been healthy all year but he’s hitting .393. Almost .400 people. Why isn’t he playing every day? Jason is one of the reasons I think the Astros can afford to trade Carlos Lee. But back to the game. Bourn had the night off till he came up to pinch hit and sure enough, after a rough game hitting wise two days ago, Bourn comes through with an RBI single.

Tonight Happ takes the mound. I’m not sure if I like a lefty facing the Cards with Pujols and Berkman batting righty with the short porch in left.

We might get lucky though. Pitching for the Cards is Lance Lynn who is 0-1 has an ERA over 8 so the chance to win is there.
