I actually thought the Angels would sweep the Mets. I am actually not a very bright guy. With Joel Pineiro, Dan Haren and Tyler Chatwood pitching in the 3 games, I shot for the moon. I missed.
The Halos looked pretty good on Friday, hitting around Chris Capuano on their way to a 4-3 victory. I interviewed Capuano when he pitched for the Brewers once upon a time. He is Graduate of Duke University, and apparently went to class. He may be the most intelligent player I have ever interviewed. Not one, “You can only take 1 game at a time” or “I always give 110%”. No, his answers were well thought out and quite good. He should be a scientist, not a ballplayer, but I guess the money is better throwing the cube, than working in a cubicle.
I may not be a fan of Vernon Wells the player, but I am the person. Wells cracked a foul ball on Friday that whacked a kid in the head. Most players just look over, find out if the kid is fine, and move on. Not Wells, after the inning, he went over to the kid and gave him his cap. Not one from the dugout, but the one he was wearing. Class act. The kids pain went away right after he put Wells cap on his head.
What’s with the Mets official scorer. Jose Reyes made an obvious error in the 6th inning that was incorrectly ruled a hit. Known speedster Mark Trumbo was running so I guess that was his rationale. I won’t knock Trumbo, whose home run accounted for the only run for the Halos on Saturday night.
It’s weird to see Frankie Rodriguez wearing a Met uniform. He still gets his share of saves, but he also beats up his father in law, and rarely talks to the media. New Angels closer Jordan Walden honored K-Rod in the 9th inning. Walking the first two batters than striking out the side. Classic Rodroguez. Class move by the rookie. (Please say that tongue in cheek).
Nice to see the Angels helped another guy get his first complete game of the year. This time Mike Pelfrey went 9 against the bashers from Anaheim.
Russell Branyan continues to make his presence felt in the Halos lineup. He went 0-2 on Saturday, with an error. He is now hitting a whopping .147. I keep expecting to see a home run, but so far I have been let down. I read the Times article that said the Angels are all tapped out of money. I guess when you are paying Scott Kazmir and Gary Matthews a combined 18 million, and they aren’t even on you team, and you add that to the 24 million Wells pulls down, I can understand.
The Mets are running wild on the Angels, having stolen 6 bases in two games. The Mets are playing Angel ball against the Angels. The Angels have no stolen bases in 2 games. Have they forgotten how to play Angel ball?
No, I’m not gonna say anything bad about Dan Haren. He had his first real bad start on Saturday, but since he rarely gets run support when he does pitch well, he is forgiven. Big of me, huh?
Angels will get em tomorrow. I believe, yes I do.
That’s actress Glenn Close. I liked her in Fatal Attraction. She sang the Nat’l Anthem on Saturday. Is she “The Closer” or on “Damages”? Doesn’t matter, Angels lost 6-1.
Go Angels #2!

O'kay I'll talk about myself a little. I've been working in the television/radio industry for over 21 years. I started at 2 so I am just a tad over 21 (That is a joke). My career has taken me around and and even out of the United States. Right now I call Vegas home, but I just never know where life will take me next. Until 2002 my irrational love for the California/Anaheim/LAA had taken me down some very dark roads, but with Arte Moreno in charge I finally saw the a light at the end of the road. I really love most every sports and having as much fun as possible.
