Earlier this week, Woodland Hills graduate Ejuan Price received his release out of his letter of intent and decided to take his game to Pitt in a surprising move. If you’re a Pitt fan, this is great news as the hometown kid looks to add much needed depth to a questionable linebacking core. Remember, Dan Mason is recovering from the gruesome knee injury suffered in the Miami game last season and whether or not he’ll be at full-strength, could say a lot about how early Price may have a significant impact on the Panthers.
Pitt is moving to a 3-4 defense this year and while the defensive line is solid, there have been concerns about the linebackers. Price is a 4-star recruit and ranked 14th best middle-linebacker by Scout.com. While also a solid tight-end in high school, it was obvious which position Price was going to play at the next level. In his junior and senior seasons, Price had a total of 207 tackles and 23 sacks, leading the Wolverines to back-to-back WPIAL titles.
While Price said the current turmoil surrounding Columbus isn’t the reason he left, I would have to think it played a big part in his decision to come back to his second school of choice, Pitt. Pitt coach Todd Graham is happy to have the 6-foot 255-pound join the incoming freshman at Pitt.
“Ejuan Price is an outstanding addition to our freshman class. He comes from a tremendous football program in Woodland Hills. He is an explosive player who has great leadership abilities. He will fit in well with our defensive schemes and philosophies,” Graham said.
It looks like Graham is making true of his word that he wants to recruit the area as much as possible. Price is the 4th recruit from Woodland Hills alone so far in Grahams short tenure.
