The lockout is over! Probably the best thing I’ve said in a long time. I really can’t imagine what a year without football would have been like. I guess we won’t have to worry about that for a long time. I was on vacation last week and was trying to have a non-technology week, however I had to check on my wife’s phone for the latest on the lockout and with the Bills. I’ve been a Bills fan for as long as I can know and consider them as family, therefore I can say I was just checking in to see if they were o.k.
Well, it looks like we’ve lost a key member in Paul Posluszny to the Jacksonville Jaguars, however, I believe the addition in LB Nick Barnett, QB Tyler Thigpen and utility Brad Smith from the New York Jets balances out the loss. I have an inkling Brad Smith will steal the back up role from Thigpen and maybe use him in some form of Wildcat formation. WILDCAT!!! Can we please change the name to something a little more strong or tough like the Hercules or the He-Man. I understand it comes from Bill Snyder head coach of the Kansas State University Wildcats but maybe it’s time to change it up.
I’ve mentioned to my wife that pre-season never really means that much, but this year it could mean a lot for the Bills. They really need to gel quickly and build up some rhythm and communication before week one against the Chiefs, if they want to make the playoffs for first time in 11 years. That’s really hard to say at times!
I really don’t know what to expect from the Bills this year? It’s hard to imagine that they’ll do worse than last year but according to last years standings Buffalo will have the second hardest schedule. With Ryan Fitzpatrick behind center, we should see a little more maturity and leadership then we saw in Trent Edwards. We’ll find out quickly when Buffalo faces New England in week three.
I’ll be posting more frequently since football is back on. I’ll be concentrating more on player progress and signings. We also bought season tickets so if you are at a game look for us in section 117 row 17 seats 3 and 4. Drop by and say hi.
For the second time in less than a week the Bills added a former first-round draft choice to their roster signing free agent WR Craig “Buster” Davis Thursday evening. The fifth-year wideout is a former 2007 draft choice of the San Diego Chargers.
Buffalo’s front office was determined to get every one of their nine draft choices signed and to camp by report day Friday. The Bills are very close to doing so after top pick Marcell Dareus signed along with fourth-round pick Da’Norris Searcy and fifth-round pick Johnny White.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced that the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation has made a charitable gift of $2.5 million to support the museum’s $27 million “Future 50” Expansion & Renovation Project
