The Philadelphia Eagles travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in the second week of preseason play.
I’m interested to see how the newly revamped offensive line - Jason Kelce and Danny Watkins specifically - will do against the vaunted Dick Lebeau Steelers defense. Eagles Head Coach Andy Reid stated that the offensive starters will play the entire first half.
Last week against Baltimore, the Eagles defensive line was consistently in the Ravens backfield. How will they cope with another physical Steelers offense?
Casey Matthews continues to get positive reviews from defensive coordinator Juan Castillo, he was great in coverage last week. I’m curious to see how he’ll be against a physical downhill runner like Rashard Mendenhall, and how he’ll react in coverage when Ben Roethlisberger improvises and breaks the pocket.
Although they didn’t get much help from their offensive line, Ronnie Brown and Dion Lewis still impressed (even with low ypc averages). I want to see Brown in some short yardage situations. It’s an area where the Eagles have struggled over recent years. As for Dion Lewis, he heads back to Heinz Field, the home field of his (and LeSean McCoy’s) Pitt Panthers.
Michael Vick had an effective first (and only) drive last week. Now he goes up against one of the top defenses in football for an entire preseason half. How much will we see from DeSean Jackson?
Lastly, that trio of corners. Another chance for Philadelphia to watch the amazing coverage skills of Nnamdi Asomugha.
It should be a fun one tonight, the game will be on Fox starting at 8 pm EST.

I currently work for the Sports Network. It's the best job ever! I am a 2010 graduate of Temple University where I majored in broadcast journalism, I LOVE SPORTS! That's why I am here. I have a vast knowledge and want to share my athletic intelligence with the world. Some people like to spend their time shooting down aliens in Halo; I like to spend my time watching sports, current and old. It's my passion! I got asked one time how I can watch a game over again when I already know the outcome. 5 minutes later, he's watching Happy Gilmore reciting all of the lines from the movie. Hypocrite! As for my favorite sports teams, I've been a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan. My favorite athlete is Allen Iverson. He didn't like practice that much, but when it came to gametime, no one let it all out on the floor like Iverson. He is absolutely beloved in the city of Brotherly Love. For college athletics, obviously I pay close attention to Temple. (Yes, football too) Even before I stepped foot on Temple's campus for the 1st time in 2005, I was a fan. Oh the good old days of John Chaney! Some other tidbits about myself, I love cheesesteaks, I hydrate myself with Welch's Grape Juice and Snapple. I love the HBO show Entourage. Also, when is Kenny Powers making his much anticipated return in Eastbound and Down!
