It’s Only Exhibition, But Should Bills Fans Be Worried?

As I was trying to find the Bills game on T.V. last night I was getting updated from my iPod touch. Based on the updates I knew not to bother searching anymore and just get the final score in the morning. Should Bills fans be worried about the 24-10 loss against the Denver Broncos?  Yes, but there a few things to take into account, before we have a fire sale. It really is only the preseason, players are getting familiar with each other and they still have 2 more preseason games to get things going before the season starts against Kansas City.

There were a few shining stars for the Bills despite the loss. Tyler Thigpen went 11/20 for 118 and one touchdown. The Bills 2011 first round draft pick Marcell Dareus showed up with 1 sack and Terrence McGee had an interception that closed the first half.

On the other hand, Ryan Fitzpatrick went 6/17 for 44 yards and 1 interception. Nobody really stood out on the first string offense but the Bills did gain a total of 126 yards rushing and a measly 188 yards passing.  A better test will come next week when the first string team will see a lot more playing time against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

So don’t worry Bills fans, it really is only the second preseason game, but it would have nice to see them win 56-0. Maybe next week!
