Dallas Cowboys end pre-season at 2-2

I know not the best heading to capture readers but hey, it is what it is, the Dallas Cowboys ended this years pre-season at 2-2.  Last nights loss to the Miami Dolphins 17-3 was not really a true indication of what we will see in the regular season from this years Cowboy squad.

My pre-game blog of getting starters playing time was the exact opposite as the Cowboys designated 31 of their 80 players as ‘inactive’.  Only 3 starters were active for the Cowboys last night.

What did we see last night?, one thing was zero touchdowns from either the Cowboys offence or defense for that matter.  Who is probably going to be Dallas’ 3rd string quarterback, Stephen McGee went 21-25 for 233 yards but he like the rest of the Cowboys could not get the football into the end-zone outside of the field goal.  Likely we will see journeyman Jon Kitna as the 2nd QB behind starting QB Tony Romo.  I like what I saw from running back DeMarco Murray who showed some spark in the offence and likely or hopefully will back up Felix Jones in the Cowboy backfield.

Any football fan knows there will be roster cuts, probably a lot of the players we saw last night on the field will be part of those cuts but their time might come one day.  We now focus on the regular season in Cowboy Nation, the Sunday nighter has the Cowboys in New Jersey to play the New York  Jets.  see ya next week for the pre-game regular season blog along with some tib-bits  on what to expect from this years Cowboy team.

as always comment, questions, concerns
