Three Turnovers Seal PSU’s Fate

Sure, the Nittany Lions weren’t necessarily expected to win on Saturday vs. third-ranked Alabama, but the way they played in the 27-11 loss was particularly disturbing.
If you hand the ball over three times to *any* team you might as well just concede defeat. Enough said.
Secondly, the two QB garbage needs to end. You can’t be a little bit pregnant and you can’t have more than one starting quarterback. Both Matt McGloin and Rob Bolden are good enough to play *somewhere* and they’re both being screwed up by sharing time under center.
Bolden clearly outshone McGloin Saturday (and remember he had the advantage of starting at Tuscaloosa last year, too). Bolden was 11 for 29 for 141 yards and one pick. McGloin was 1 for 10 for no yards. It’s decision time.
The team can’t focus on one offensive leader and everyone suffers. The Paternos need to make a call. The longer they wait the worse it will get.
Finally, what worries me (not for next week when they play Temple) is the Nittany Lions’ ability to beat ranked teams. It wasn’t apparent last season and with only the Alabama game under their belts, I’m not sure they can do much better this year.
On the plus side, the linebackers all set career highs for tackles and Derek Moye had three catches for 51 yards.
