Big comeback in San Fran as Cowboys go to 1-1…

Where do I start?, the Dallas Cowboys just came back to beat the San Francisco 49ers 27-24 in OT.  I know all you gamblers out there were hoping for Jessie ‘who am I’ Holley to run that pass-play into the end-zone for the Cowboys to cover but Cowboys won baby!!!!!.

I am the same as everyone in Cowboy Nation who once again was sitting on their couches and saying here we go again, how are the Cowboys going to mount a comeback?, Kitna was in, O boy, 0-2 here we come.

I sit here, am staring at my notes I jot down we’ll I am watching the game and wondering where do I start?.   No stats in this blog, all facts and I will start that I think half of the stadium was filled with Cowboy fans, was I dreaming or did anyone else notice the noise when the Cowboys mounted the comeback?.

The game got off to a brutal start, Cowboys first drive results in a missed field goal, 3 and outs seemed to be the theme for the Cowboys, 7 straight in completions for Romo.  Than comes the 2nd half and maybe a new Dallas Cowboys TEAM and I say TEAM in capitals as today was a full Dallas Cowboy team effort from the Coaching staff, back-ups to the offense and defense and where did Jessie Holley come from?.   I realize a lot of people will still want to continue to bash Tony Romo and it is only week-2 but how great was it to see him looking for his helmet on the sidelines after the rib-injury sidelined him for the 3rd quarter and mount the comeback and get the Cowboys to 1-1.  What a great effort by back up QB Jon Kitna coming in and moving the ball and although he had a turnover he did put a TD on the board which was huge before Romo came in and did what none of us thought he could and that is bring the Dallas Cowboys their first win of the season.

It seemed like the whole game was an uphill battle for the Cowboys but 6 sacks by the ‘D’ helped, the interception and constant pressure on San Fran QB Smith helped and how nice was it to see the ‘other’ team implode rather than the Cowboys.

I guess we can say there were many turning points in the game but I will go with the ‘neutral zone’ infraction, hey, we did not call the penalty, the refs did but I will say it was suspect.  What a game by Miles Austin who stepped up his game without Dez Bryant playing and what about Jason Witten, another fabulous game by Witten who as usual comes to work every game day to play football better than anyone in the game.

Always work to do in Cowboy Nation, offensive line, running game and of course what will be the status of Romo for week-3, stayed tuned but as noted in my pre-game blog the Cowboys are 1-1 leaving San Fran.

as always comment, questions, concerns….
