This weeks Monday nighter has the 1-1 Dallas Cowboys hosting the 2-0 Washington Redskins, do I really have to say these two teams are bitter rivalries?, ok, I just said it.
I gotta start the blog with ???, as out of Dallas we all know about the injuries to the Cowboys starting with their starting quarterback Tony Romo. The last news I heard of was that it may very well be a game day decision as to whether Romo is going to start on Monday night. Romo very well might be the decision maker in the call if he can play or not and after last weeks comeback we should all know that if Romo can play he will play. The other ??? are with RB Felix Jones (shoulder) and starting centre Phil Costa (right knee).
Some Redskins have already made it public that they plan on aiming at these injured players which is fine with any football fan as long as it is done legally.
Monday will be home game number 1 for the Cowboys and away game number 1 for the Redskins. FYI, Dallas has yet to win a game in new Cowboys stadium.
Keys to a Dallas win are going to be protecting the QB especially if it is Romo back there. Both teams are very comparable on both sides of the football and the deciding factor may be on special teams, FG’s and of course the dreaded turnover and which team can turn the TO into points. So far both teams have shown some early success in turning TO’s into points and of course we know Dallas has already turned the ball over far too many times costing the Cowboys the chance that they could very well be a TO in their favour from being 2-0.
The game will be huge, home opener for the Cowboys, prime time, Monday night football, an intense battle between two football cities that I think I can say hate each other. We will either see the Cowboys and Redskins tied atop the NFC east at 2-1 or the Cowboys facing an uphill climb falling to 1-3 which will not bode well with this Cowboys blogger and I think and am optimistic that the Cowboys will win, no guarantees but I think the Cowboys are the better team and will come out victorious. Washington has played over their talent pool so far this year and it will show this week.
Team work will be the theme – Go Cowboys – see ya Tuesday and as always comments, questions, concerns are encouraged. Come back and check the comment section if I can get any updates on Bryant, Jones, Romo, Costa.
