Saints’ Defensive End Will Smith Returns

After a great win against the Chicago Bears on Sunday the New Orleans Saints are ready to take the field again. This time they will be facing the Houston Texans again at home in the New Orleans Superdome. After defeating the Bears the defense is prepared to take them on. The Saints made it without defensive end Will Smith last Sunday, but they are excited to welcome him back with open arms this Sunday.
Smith served a long-anticipated two-game suspension after violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy. He has been one of the Saints’ best and most productive lineman during his time. While spending his time away from the training facility he was working out and sitting around doing nothing. It kills a competitor to miss time away from the field, especially if they know they could have controlled their actions and made better decisions.
The Saints probably could have used him against the season opener against the Green Bay Packers. The defense was destroyed, and Smith presence was greatly needed. The defense did not go as hard as they should have against the Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Last Sunday the Saints’ defense decided to change that up and came back and beat the Bears 30-13. The win against Chicago moved them to a 1-1 overall record.
Smith will be on the field Sunday against the 2-0 Houston Texans. His return could be an advantage for the Saints because the Texans are not even close to the Bears offensively. Whatever Smith can bring to the Saints they will need it.
The Texans quarterback Matt Schaub was among the league leaders in passing yards the last two seasons. Receiver Andre Johnson is also among the league’s best players. Their offense and defense are working hard, and they are ready to take on anyone in the league.
Smith understands that he has to play hard, and he is prepared to take on the Houston, Texans this Sunday. Let us see if the New Orleans Saints can move up to a 2-1 record or will the Texans defeat them bringing them to 3-0.
