The Patriots are traveling to Buffalo this week to face the Bills who are surprisingly 2-0. Not only are they undefeated, but they actually look pretty good (for the Bills). The Bills have been awful for quite a few years now, however this year they seem to be off to a better start. Their defense is still pretty poor, but their offense has a little spark to it. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been a pretty big story in the NFL this year, throwing an unexpected 7 TDs thus far and leading the Bills to a comeback win last week over the Raiders. Fred Jackson is looking much younger and energetic than a 30 year old should look, and Stevie Johnson is making plays just like he did last year.
The Patriots defense will be a fairly good matchup for this somewhat explosive Bills offense. Yes, the Bills will get at least a couple scores, but they are going to work a lot harder for them this week. Fitzpatrick surprisingly looks like a mature QB and is making the right decisions regardless of the pressure that faces him. With that in mind, the Patriots should blitz often throwing the QB off. Doing so, will force a lot of mixed passes and a couple interceptions. The Patriots defense will have their best game of the season and show up this Bills offense. They still have some work to do, but this will be a good confidence booster.
As for the Patriots offense, they will shine as usual. The Bills defense looked good against a dismal Chiefs team, however gave up 35 points to an average Raiders offense. Now the Patriots come to town and they are going to destroy the Bills. The offense will run away with more than usual giving Woodhead and Green-Ellis a combined 30 rushes. These rushes will most likely come during the 2nd half where the Patriots will already be dominating the scoreboard. Believe it or not, Chad Ochocinco will score his first TD as a Patriot this week. He will certainly have some celebration up his sleeve, and will add some points to the board.
All in all, the Bills have looked good so far, however are no comparison to the Patriots. I see the Pats winning this one 38-17. Should be a pretty easy victory. Go Pats. Feel free to comment as I will chime in…
