Skins Fan Ego Bruised with Loss to the Boys

Brutal.  Just brutal.  Clearly a win for the Cowboys defense last night and a fight for the most field goals.  Both the Redskins and the Cowboys scored a FG on their opening drives.  LaRon Landry, who promised to unleash the Beast, did so for part of the game causing a fumble which was then recovered by the Redskins.  The Redskins then score their 2nd field goal.

In the second quarter, a glimpse of the Train Rex came out with an interception, which the Cowboys then score another FG to tie at 6-6.  The Redskins get into the red zone, again, another FG attempt, but good snap, bad hold and the Cowboys get the ball back.  That would have been 9-6 and potentially the game winner for the Redskins.  Another turnover and another FG for Dallas.  9-6 Dallas.  With under a minute left in the first half, Gano manages a 50 yard FG to tie at 9-9 and made history of the only team since 1971 to have a 9-9 score of only field goals.  Lovely.

In the 3rd quarter, Romo started to crumble a bit by almost dropping 2 snaps then throwing an interception.  This would then give the Redskins their first and only TD with a Tim Hightower catch.  16-9 Redskins.  The Cowboys did get one throw into the end zone but due to some great D by Oshiomogho Atogwe, it’s incomplete.  Dallas gets their 4th FG to bring them within 4.

The 4th quarter, another almost interception by Grossman and multiple drops by Romo.  With the way he’s playing in the 2nd half, the Skins should be up by 21 points by defensive TDs.  All they can do is keep the Cowboys out of the end zone, but still allows another FG.  16-15 Redskins.

Within 2 minutes remaining, DeAngelo Hall gets a facemask call giving the Cowboys another easy FG and the lead.  18-16 Cowboys.  38 seconds remaining, still time for another FG, but Grossman sacked and fumbles and Dallas recovers.  Game over.

Pathetic offense for the Redskins.  With Romo playing hurt it should have been simple.  Grossman managed 5 yards less than Romo and for a good rushing D, the Redskins allowed over 120 yards rushing.  I am wearing all blue today and am not happy about it.  I do give props to Romo for sticking with it (hate saying that), but think our D was way to easy on him.  London Fletcher actually avoided hitting him a couple times.
