It’s a comedy of errors when it comes to the Cowboys, Jekyll and Hyde, a roller coaster, and sometimes just tough to watch. After a magnificent beginning to the game, where the Cowboys seemed to have Lions in check both offensively and defensively, things began to unravel and eventually losing the game 34-30.
The Cowboys blew a 27-3 lead they had early in the second half, leading to the Lions second comeback victory in 2 weeks. It began with the enigmatic return of Bobby Carpenter, who picked off Romo on a short pass he returned for a TD. This was then followed by another quick pass on the following series by Chris Houston, who also returned the pass for a pick six. Then Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson began to pick apart the secondary of the Cowboys in the 4th quarter hooking up 5 times for 2 touchdowns.
There are no excuses for Romo this week. Hurt ribs or not, his picks turned the momentum of the game, and the picks were on him. There are a few reasons for optimism for the team. Like the play of Laurent Robinson, who had 7 catches for 117 yards, after being with the team for only a short time making Kevin Ogletree look very cut-able. Dez Bryant also hauled in 2 very impressive touchdown catches.
All this does little to alleviate the resurgence of team breakdown. This will be a hard pill to swallow for the team going into their BYE week that will be followed by a trip to Foxborough.
