Despite the many mistakes the New Orleans Saints had they still managed to take the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. It definitely was not as exciting as were the last three weeks. The Saints did not do as well as everyone intended. They took the field, and they did not expect the Jaguars to play like they did. This game was a flop in a sense that the Saints could have came away with much more points.
The Saints scored touchdowns on their first two possessions. With that happening it looked like the Saints were going to score 30 points or more for the fourth consecutive week. But that did not happen due to Brees messing up by throwing two interceptions. John Kasay did not help either by missing two long field goals.
They missed many opportunities to make points, and they only managed to score nine points in the second half. The Saints could have taking this game so far, but they did not play as well as people expected. They got inside the 20 three times in the second half, and did not come away with one touchdown.
Everyone felt that the Saints would blow the Jaguars out due to their low scoring this season and their rookie quarterback. But the Jaguars did not look too good out there either, and that is what helped the Saints win this game. The Jaguars had the chance to take this game, but they dropped the ball too many times to make it anywhere.
The Saints had fewer problems than the Jaguars. Brees completed 31 of his 44 passes, and Darren Sproles did a great job in this game. He had 75 rushing yards, 56 yards receiving, and 57 yards in returns. He added 188 all-purpose yards, and truly helped the team take the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The New Orleans Saints certainly needs to improve in order for them to make it to the Super Bowl. The Saints (3-1) travels to North Carolina next Sunday to play the Carolina Panthers (1-3). Let us see if the Saints’ offense and defense can get back to scoring 30 points or more. Hopefully the Saints can continue on their winning streak by defeating the Panthers next week.
