week-5 BYE week for the Dallas Cowboys…

You wonder what can I write about when there is no game this week-5 for the Dallas Cowboys.  Even though the Cowboys are not playing, that does not mean that things sit still in Dallas Nation.

The Cowboys enter the bye week at 2-2 and only a few minutes from being 4-0 and yes I know also 0-4 so maybe 2-2 is exactly where the Cowboys should be.

The bye week comes at a perfect time to allow the Cowboys to get healthy and that is the theme of this blog, getting the walking wounded back on the field and playing football.   My focus is getting WR Miles Austin back on the field.   Austin’s presence on the field does wonders for the Cowboys offense and helps TE Jason Witten, WR Dez Bryant as you can only double coverage so many players and if DB’s drop back to double up a WR or TE, than guess what, that opens up for a running play and potential yards there and that is how valuable Austin is to the Cowboys offense.

We’ll the Dallas defense has been playing ‘o.k’, they under Rob Ryan have to do just that little bit more to keep the opponents ‘O’ off the field and not give up the points they have been so far this season.    I won’t put too much blame on the ‘D’ as a lot of the points the other teams have been getting the Dallas ‘D’ have not even been on the field so comes my next point.  Play calling, Coach Garrett, QB Tony Romo,  Washington Redskin Chris Cooley said this week that Romo could of kneeled down the whole 2nd half and  the Cowboys could of won the game against the Lions.  Cooley may have a point and clearly all I can say is clock management and play calling.   I am not a head Coach in the NFL but Dallas gave the Lions the 2nd half and the ultimate win last Sunday by bad clock management and poor play calling, not to say Romo threw up some ducks for-sure (quack-quack).  I don’t know figures but the Cowboys have given up way too many points so far this season with their offense being on the field.

So the Cowboys will use this week to get healthy, focus on some rest and relaxation and yes they deserve it and get prepared for a big game on the road against the New England Patriots in week-6.
