Bills Back On Track With Win Over Eagles

What will be talked about more this week?  The Eagles lose again or are the Bills back on track? So far all the talk has been about how the Eagles downward spiral continues after their 31-24 loss to Buffalo. I prefer the spotlight be diverted to other teams, and believe this will keep the Bills in check and not let the success of winning get the best of them.

Our annual Gordon bus trip took place this weekend and we couldn’t have asked for more. The sun was shining, the beers were cold and the Bills won! Buffalo’s defense gave their offense the chances they needed to win the game. LB Nick Barnett provided breathing room by returning one of Michael Vick’s 4 interceptions for a touchdown giving Buffalo a 14 point lead.  However, the Bills D still needs some re-tooling. They are giving up a whopping 421 yards per game averaging out to a league worse 6.6 yards per play. But hey when you have 12 interceptions combined with 4 forced fumbles, it’s hard to complain. Only having 11 interceptions all of last year, this is certainly something they can build on but still need to focus on improving  in other areas.

Freddy “Kreuger” Jackson gave the so called Dream Team nightmares all day long. He finished with 196 all purpose yards, and was once again the Bills work horse. Pay the man! My friend Miah came up with a good point, the longer you wait the more you’ll have to pay. Let’s all agree, he will be worth every penny.

Ryan Fitzpatrick did what he does best, going 21/27 for 193 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception, guiding his Bills to another victory and further demonstrating he is the leader of this team and should be considered among the best in the NFL. The mystique behind the Beard and the name Fitzmagic grows with every win. Facing a 4th and inches with roughly 1:30 left on the clock, the Eagles had just used their last time out and with my very own eyes I witnessed the Fitzmagic in person. The Eagles Juqua Parker feared the Beard, causing him to jump off sides, giving the Bills the first down and they were able to kill the clock and win the game.

Buffalo will take the drive down the road next week to face the New York Giants in a rematch of Super Bowl 25. Will next week be the week when those neigh-sayers take Buffalo seriously? We’ll see!

Big ups to Miah for putting on another great trip. I was looking forward to this trip all year and it did not disappoint. We got to the game at 9 a.m. and left around 6 p.m. During our 9 hour stint, we witnessed multiple beer bongs(including a tree

The Man, The Myth, The Legend

beer bong), one cheerleading pyramid, one big guy in a little mustardy shirt, several Kanye West sunglasses, friendship rings and most importantly, one Bills win. Can’t wait for next year. I hope it comes sooner than later because it’s just that much fun.

Game Notes

  • Donald Jones suffered a high ankle sprain and will be out 4-6 weeks
  • George Wilson was a beast with 11 solo tackles and 1 interception
  • Michael Vick passed Randall Cunningham for most rushing yards for a QB
  • Janet Greene was sidelined this year nursing a her little sick cat back to health. She’ll be back next year!
