First , I would like to pay homage to Al Davis, the Raiders’ owner who passed away over the weekend. Plenty of people loved or hated him, and that is always the sign of someone who is influential, at the very least. If all owners wanted to win as badly as Davis, the NFL would be a much better place.
On another note, the Minnesota Vikings won a game!!! I feel certain that all Minnesota fans were concerned when the Vikes jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half. The Cardinals did try to chip away, but Jared Allen and the defense proved to be too tough.
I said that one of the keys too beating Arizona was to keep pressure on QB Kevin Kolb. In my opinion, this guy was the most overrated player out there in the offseason, and I’m glad Minnsota didn’t waste draft picks on him. The Vikings only recorded one real sack against Kolb, but he was under constant pressure.
Hey, did I mention that Adrian Peterson had 3 rushing TD’s? AP was phenominal. Forget about the running back discussion, this guy is the best football player in the league. Watch his 24 yard TD run in the first quarter. He actually seeks contact at the end of the play, ala Walter Payton. AFD stands for “All F%%&&**& Day”, and this guy deserves every accolade.
The Minnesota Vikings are the best 1-4 team in NFL history. That however, is not a good thing. The Vikes need to go on a tear. One of those deals where they win 6 or 7 in a row. Then
Viking fans can get excited. Until then, all we know is that McNabb has played well enough to keep his gig.
