Mistakes continue to plague this team this season, whether its critical penalties, missed tackles and turnovers.
The defense stepped up this week in the fourth quarter, but it was the offense that dug themselves into a big hole this week. They rallied in the fourth quarter, but Vick’s pass for Jason Avant was intercepted late in the game to seal their fate.
This past week it was five critical turnovers which led the Eagles ultimate demise.
In his first ten starts last season with Philadelphia, Vick threw for 19 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He has seven picks and three fumbles lost so far this season.
But it’s not all on Vick as the offensive line continues to faulter in protecting him, and the receivers have dropped some balls.
Despite being 1-4, I did see some signs on Sunday in regards to the offense and defense.
The red-zone offense looked much better besides the one field-goal drive where Danny Watkins and King Dunlap committed back-to-back penalties.
There was no fooling around, no Ronnie Brown jump throws, no carries by the fullback, none of that. Instead it was Jeremy Maclin who caught a two-yard touchdown, and LeSean McCoy who got in from 10 yards out.
Although the linebacks, safeties and cornerbacks continue to miss tackles, the effort from the defense was there in the fourth quarter. But it would’ve been nice to see that effort when it was needed.
They were never able to take the crowd out of the game. Buffalo had touchdown drives to start the game, and to start the second half.
I do have a request…why is Jaiquawn Jarrett just sitting on the bench. Why is he not playing? Give him a shot, can he be much worse than anyone else?
It’s going to be a long road towards a possible playoff berth, but the Eagles aren’t out of it yet. especially in a weak NFC East.
Only five teams since 1990, nine since the merger, have started 1-4 and made the playoffs…
2004- Green Bay (10-6)
2002- Tennessee (11-5)
2002- NY Jets (9-7)
1993- Houston (12-4)
1992- San Diego (11-5)

I currently work for the Sports Network. It's the best job ever! I am a 2010 graduate of Temple University where I majored in broadcast journalism, I LOVE SPORTS! That's why I am here. I have a vast knowledge and want to share my athletic intelligence with the world. Some people like to spend their time shooting down aliens in Halo; I like to spend my time watching sports, current and old. It's my passion! I got asked one time how I can watch a game over again when I already know the outcome. 5 minutes later, he's watching Happy Gilmore reciting all of the lines from the movie. Hypocrite! As for my favorite sports teams, I've been a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan. My favorite athlete is Allen Iverson. He didn't like practice that much, but when it came to gametime, no one let it all out on the floor like Iverson. He is absolutely beloved in the city of Brotherly Love. For college athletics, obviously I pay close attention to Temple. (Yes, football too) Even before I stepped foot on Temple's campus for the 1st time in 2005, I was a fan. Oh the good old days of John Chaney! Some other tidbits about myself, I love cheesesteaks, I hydrate myself with Welch's Grape Juice and Snapple. I love the HBO show Entourage. Also, when is Kenny Powers making his much anticipated return in Eastbound and Down!
