Thanks to a loss last Saturday against Virginia, Georgia Tech is now 6-1 overall.
The Yellow Jackets fell 24-21 in Charlottesville. In Coach Johnson’s weekly conference, he commented on this loss by saying, “I’m disappointed in our performance last week. I think that any time you lose a game in this profession it sticks with you longer than when you win. The challenge this week, in addition to a great Miami team that is very athletic, is to put it [the loss] behind you. You have to flush it and move on.”
Georgia Tech’s next game will be in Miami, Florida against the University of Miami (3-3 overall).
Johnson says, “Hopefully, you learn from some of the things that we didn’t do as well, and try to get the team geared up for a very important conference game in Miami. I think that there’s no question that right now they’re probably playing as well as anybody in the league. They always have great athletes, run well, so it will be a big challenge for our guys.”
Johnson makes several comments about people trying to bury the team and feels like this one loss is not enough to count his team out. He feels that they deserve two more games before the criticism starts.
Well, game one after the loss is Saturday, October 22nd at 3:30 pm EST. This game can be seen on ESPN.
