The 3-2 Washington Redskins travel a little south to play the 1-5 Carolina Panthers and in typical Redskins fashion, we’re in the midst of yet another quarterback switch. Mike Shanahan announced on Wednesday that John Beck would be replacing Rex Grossman to start the game against Carolina.
What’s even more worrisome for the Redskins offense is the loss of multiple O-Line players to injuries and the complete shift of positions. Trent Williams in out for a few weeks, Kory Lichtensteiger is now on injury reserve, R Maurice Hurt has been signed from the practice squad.
The offensive rankings are just terrible from only a couple weeks and have to potential to get worse if Beck does not turn things around, the new O-Line can provide some protection to Beck and get the running game back. However, if this O-Line crumbles, the passing and rush game goes with it and must rely on our defensive players to intercept and run for our points. Ugh.

If you want something to look forward to though, look no further than the defense and Jim Haslett. The Skins are rated #6 overall in defense. But can you win a game or a division with just good D?
Projected injuries for the game are as follows. Very upsetting that I will not get to see Cooley play in Toronto on October 30th. Hope he’s there still!

Written by Mercedes Green
I lived in Greene County Virginia for about 5 years of my childhood. This span of time was enough to imprint the love of the Washington Redskins (and hate of the Dallas Cowboys) into my life forever, even though I am Canadian and still live in Canada. I am in no way an expert on sports, football, or even the Redskins, but I do absolutely adore them, their fans and their home state(s).
My favourite Redskin is and will always be Darrell Green (not because we share the same last name lol). I've adored Chris Cooley since he joined the team from the 2004 draft and love London Fletcher.
Hail to the Redskins! See you October 30th in my home town of Toronto.
