The final What It Means for the official 2011 PGA Tour season:
1) Congrats to Luke Donald on winning Disney, the money title, and quite possibly Player of the Year. He shot a 64 today, including six straight birdies after making the turn, capped off with a 45 foot bomb on 15. Absolutely sensational play, and he 100% deserves the money title.
2) Sergio Garcia won an European Tour event today in Spain, his first win of any kind on any tour since 2008! I’d love to see him win a major, even though I doubt it’ll happen, but it is good to see a fan favorite back in the winner’s circle.
3) Gotta give a shoutout to Webb Simpson. He won’t win the money title and the five-year exemption that goes with it but he gave it a run today, and had a great, breakout season. A lot of bigger things are on the horizon for one of the game’s brightest stars.
