Blame whoever you want: Coaches, players, injuries, bad luck or me? I’ve been to 4 Skins games over the past 4 years and they are 1-3 for those so maybe I need to stop going. However, I blame them all for the horrible showing yesterday of my beloved Redskins in my hometown. They were shut out by the Buffalo Bills 23-0. Their only scoring chance was a 49 field goal which was blocked by the Bills.
We did have some great seats though and there was surprisingly a lot of Burgundy and Gold represented all around us, which was comforting.
Plus, Pam Oliver was right in front of us, which was cool to see. Didn’t see Chris Cooley on the sidelines, which was a total bummer, but London Fletcher did play.
The game started messy from the very first touch of the ball by Brandon Banks dropping the ball on his first return. HE did recover it thankfully. John Beck also dropped the ball with no one near him. The dome was closed at the Rogers Centre, so no one can blame it on the elements.
The only thing the Redskin had to do was run the ball and they could have made a game out of FGs alone, especially going up against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL. The Skins only got 26 rushing yards. 26! The Bills got 9 sacks on Beck. 9! This all points to a failure on the offensive line not creating the holes for the run game and allowing all those sacks. You can blame Beck for some of them by not getting rid of the ball, but he didn’t fumble. He just threw 2 interceptions.
Here are the offensive numbers. The passing yards are about the same. The clear victor for the Bills was their ground game. My only saving grace is the fact that Dallas got creamed by the Eagles by 27 points. Ahhh, makes me feel much better. The Eagles, Cowboys and Redskins are all sitting at 3-4 now.

About the Author
Written by Mercedes Green
I lived in Greene County Virginia for about 5 years of my childhood. This span of time was enough to imprint the love of the Washington Redskins (and hate of the Dallas Cowboys) into my life forever, even though I am Canadian and still live in Canada. I am in no way an expert on sports, football, or even the Redskins, but I do absolutely adore them, their fans and their home state(s).
My favourite Redskin is and will always be Darrell Green (not because we share the same last name lol). I've adored Chris Cooley since he joined the team from the 2004 draft and love London Fletcher.
Hail to the Redskins! See you October 30th in my home town of Toronto.

Blame Terrence and Phillip… or blame the fact that the Skins are not the team they thought they were when Rexy was crowing in preseason. Buffalo is a good team but not great and 9 sacks, 26 rushing yards and 23-0?
