Football season is in full swing and week 9 provides a MUCH needed break in the Carolina Panther monotony. With a disappointing start the first half of the season the Panthers have a moment to individually reflect and collectively regroup before facing the Titans at home, followed by a trip to “The D” to take on the Lions.
Let’s break the pig from the skin….offensively the Panthers are a well-oiled machine…most of the time. Newton has proven himself week-in & -out to be ready to work the ball and spread the love to his collection of receivers. Steve Smith has out-played himself from this time last year and emerged a true leader on the field. Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey help round out a brilliant execution of Panther passing which puts the team in the League’s top five is passing and top ten in scoring. (I’m confused) Despite all the offense hard work, they are unable to finish the job…6 of 8 times.
The Defense contributes heavily to the success (lack-there-of) of the Panthers. With countless injuries and weekly changes to the starting line, it’s no wonder why the Carolina defense is struggled to assist with team WINS. Hopefully with this week’s bye the Panthers can make adjustments that will help propel their number of wins.
