Chiefs Get Run All Over

This loss is going to leave a nasty taste in the mouth of the Chiefs. It wasn’t just the fact that they were beaten by the Broncos, it was the way the Broncos beat them.
Tim Tebow completed two out of his eight passes and Denver was still able to win. That is not normal. He had a total of 69 yards in the air, 56 of which came on one pass when he connected with Eric Decker for a touchdown.
It was the ground game that crushed the Kansas City defense. Denver ran the ball a total of 55 times for 244 yards. The Chiefs knew what they were doing and could not stop them. Tebow tallied up 44 yards rushing while Lance Ball contributed with 96. They had a game plan and stuck to it. It looks like the option is here to stay.
The Chiefs’ defense was on the field for over 33 minutes and you could tell they were worn down by the end of the game.
When the offense did have the ball they were not able to do much with it anyway. Matt Cassel went 13 for 28 with 93 yards and a score and the team rushed for a total of 134 yards. This is the second week in a row the offense has been unproductive. They can’t expect to win games if they can’t put some points on the board.
Cassel was injured in the game and Tyler Palko came in for the final drive. Cassel had a cast on his hand after the game, so we’ll have to wait and see if he’ll be able to play against New England next week. No matter who’s under center the Chiefs need to do a much better job of moving the chains and taking care of business.
