Kentucky Ends “The Streak”
Posted By Corey Graham On Nov 26 2011 @ 4:01 pm In Tennessee | No Comments
For the first time since 1984 the Kentucky Wildcats have beaten the Tennessee Volunteers. Tennessee’s offense looked more like a train wreck then the well oiled machine most thought it would be today. Being a die-hard Tennessee fan, what’s hardest to swallow is the fact that the Vols were beaten by a wide receiver posing as a quarterback. Kentucky threw only 6 passes, completing 4 of them for 15 yards.
Tyler Bray and the Tennessee offense struggled early and often in the game. Bray completed 15 of 38 passes for 215 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions, the second of which sealed the Kentucky victory. Da’Rick Rogers was absent with only 2 catches for 38 yards.
I will give Kentucky credit for playing very good defense and special teams. Winning two out of three phases of the game is usually a very good recipe for success and it proved to be so for the Kentucky Wildcats on this day.
