Tennessee Looks to Become Bowl Eligible with a Win Over Rival Kentucky

The Tennessee Volunteer football team looks to become bowl eligible on saturday with a win over rival Kentucky in Lexington. The Vols have beaten the Wildcats 26 straight times, 14 straight when traveling to Kentucky.
Tennessee fans can breath a sigh of relief if their team can pull off a bowl birth after a roller coaster like season. With Tyler Bray getting his bearings back after returning from an injury earlier this season against Georgia the Tennessee offense is back to almost full strength. Not only is Tyler Bray a very important piece of the Volunteer offense, I believe he will prove to be the key to extending the streak to 27 wins over Kentucky and taking his team to the postseason.
Now that I have sang the praises of the sophomore quarterback I would like to direct your attention to another sophomore making noise this season. Wide Receiver Da’Rick Rogers has put up numbers that lead the SEC in receptions with 65. He is also tied with Arkansas’ Jarius Wright for receiving yards, 1,002, he is second with 9 touchdown catches, and he has the opportunity to be the third Tennessee receiver to score 10 touchdown catches and have 1,000 yards receiving in a single season.
I believe that come saturday the Volunteers will continue the winning streak against Kentucky and put themselves into the postseason. While a 6-6 season is never a standard for any major college football team, I consider it an accomplishment and a successful season for a very young, but talented, Tennessee team. Final Score – Tennessee 31, Kentucky 10.
