We’re coming down to the final stretch before the fantasy playoffs begin, and pick’ens a very slim. Though there are always a few gems that could help make or break your fantasy playoff run. Week 13 top waiver pick ups.
Roy Helu – Finally, Mike Shanahan has declared Helu the starter and seemingly stuck to it. Given the bulk of the touches out of the Redskins’ backfield, Helu 108 yards on the ground with a beautiful TD run where he hurdled a defender. Better late than never, and Helu may be available in leagues where owners may have tired of the Redskins backfield. Take advantage. Available in 53% of leagues currently.
Kyle Orton – The Cheifs looked awful Sunday, and Tyler Palko will absolutely be benched for newly the newly acquired Orton. In his new home, he will be sporting one the best receiving cores of his career, and will look to make the most of his opportunity to show he is still capable of being a starting QB in the league. Could payoff for fantasy owners in need of QB. Available in 82% of leagues currently.
Johnny Knox – Caleb Hanie targeted Knox 10 times in his 4 catch 145 yard performance. Knox isn’t getting the starts in each game, but is worth an add in deeper leagues, especially if this trend shows any consistency. Available in 69% of leagues currently.
Jason Avant – He had a game high 8 receptions for 118 yards and a TD, though a good deal of his totals came after the Eagles went down big to the Pats. He is worth a pick up and maybe a start if your in need this week, but only in the event that Jeremy Maclin misses the Eagles’ Thursday night game. Available in 90% of leagues currently.
Brent Celek – He was nonexistent during the first 5 games of the season and since he 5 catches a game. He’s proved a viable option with either Michael Vick or Vince Young at the helm. If your hurting at the tight end position, he is worth a look. Available in 64% of leagues currently.
Donald Brown – Browwn ran well this week totaling 97 yards and a TD, however, it came against the horrible Carolina run D. Brown is worth a look though for desperate owners in need of a RB as he looked to be the main back in Indy despite the return of Joseph Addai. Available in 88% of leagues currently.
