Just like Jack and the Beanstalk this story ended with the Green Bay Packers slaying the New York Giants. The Packers beat the Giants 38-35 Dec. 4 in what has been their toughest test this undefeated season.
The Packers continue to be the same story this season, the story is poor defense and amazing offense, led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The media has been saying the same thing for 12 weeks with the Packers. They are an explosive offense, but the defense is suspect.
Most teams would not have a winning record with a defense as statistically bad as the Packers are, but the Packers can because of Rodgers and one thing their defense does; create turnovers.
While we continue to see defense give up insane amounts of yards, we see them take advantage of opportunties. Linebacker Clay Matthews took advantage of a terrible decision by quarterback Eli Manning and returned the interception for a touchdown.
It has been plays like this and Rodgers historical play giving the Packers a winning recipe, but other teams should be worried the Packers still can improve. Look for the Packers to start cleaning up their mistakes as they get ready for a run at another Lombardi Trophy.
