So You’re Saying There’s A Chance

The Chiefs are proving that it’s not over till it’s over.  With a huge upset of the Packers last week they kept their hopes of repeating as AFC West champions alive.

Kansas City needs a lot of help in the next two weeks, but anything is possible.  If they win out, Denver loses its last two games, and San Diego loses at least one of the final two the Chiefs will come out on top.

A lot of times a team can come out flat after an emotional victory…Romeo Crennel can not let that happen to his team.

The offense received a much needed spark last week with Kyle Orton’s first start and racked up 438 yards.  They definitely have the momentum heading into this game and need to continue to ride it.  Orton gives them the ability to throw the ball downfield.  Throughout the season they have had a hard time finding the big play, but with solid weapons in Dwayne Bowe and Steve Breaston it would be wise of the Chiefs to throw the ball long to those guys.

The Raiders also have a quarterback who they acquired midseason.  Carson Palmer has shown flashes of his old self, but he’s also had a few disappointing games.  The Chiefs need to pressure Palmer and force him to make mistakes.  This formula has worked for Kansas City before.

It’s gonna be a hard fought battle between these division rivals.  The way this season started no one thought the Chiefs would actually be playing a meaningful game in Week 16, but here they are.  They never gave up and now have a chance to make the playoffs.
