This Sunday the Green Bay Packers will host the Detroit Lions in the season finale at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
While the Packers are a lock for the No. 1 seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs they should look to rest their players. If they were still in pursuit of perfection, things could possibly be different. The Packers will look to compete with the Lions, but do not expect starters to play long at all as they prep for the playoffs.
The Lions on the other hand have something to play for. A loss will make them have to travel to face the New Orleans Saints, while a win would bring them to either the New York Giants or Dallas Cowboys. A match-up which would be a lot more pleasing to them. With this being said, expect the Lions to play their starters and for the whole game possibly.
While it seems as though this game really does not mean much to the Packers most would say this will be an easy win for the Lions, but the Packers second team is not terrible. Expect them to put up a fight and possibly if the first string gets up early for them to coast along with their second team for the rest of the game.
Even with this being said I foresee the Packers losing this game. Not because I think they are a worse team then the Lions, but because they have nothing to play for. The team will rest up and prepare for the playoffs and the run at their last goal of the year, the Super Bowl. Lions will win this game 35-31.
