The Chicago Bulls played spectacular defense Wednesday night against the Hornets as they held them to 37.3% shooting in the Bulls 90-67 victory over New Orleans. Once again this victory came because of good defense and to an extent poor shooting from the Hornets. The Bulls continue to impress on the defensive side and the offense will come once Derrick Rose can get healthier from the back spasms/tightness he has been suffering from lately. Rose only played 22 minutes and shot the ball only 5 times, making 3 of them to score 6 points in the victory. This lack of production is something you do not see very often from D-Rose and as the season goes on and he heals the production will be back at the MVP level that it was last year. Rose may have struggled but the two starting big guys helped the Bulls as Boozer had 18 points with 6 rebounds and Joakim Noah had 13 points with 10 boards. Off the bench Taj Gibson continued his solid season adding 14 points with 6 rebounds while Kyle Korver added 12 points in the victory.
The Bulls moved to 22-6 on the year with the victory and are the number 1 ranked team in the East over the Heat by 2 games and are the number 1 team in the NBA over the Thunder by 1/2 a game. This has been an impressive season for the Bulls because they have suffered from injury early on in this short season but they have been able to overcome and I just want to see what they are able to do come playoff time when they are hopefully at full strength.
