Nuggets win second straight and end five game losing streak at home tonight as they beat the Phoenix Suns 109-92, Arron Affalo keeps his hot streak going of late as he led the Nuggets with 20 points shooting 7-11 from the field. The game was close until the third quarter when the Nuggets showed how good their defense can be holding the Suns to only 19 points. Two players standing out on defense were Kosta Koufos who had five steals and three blocks in the game, and Chris Anderson helped out as well with six blocks. This win comes somewhat easy for the Nuggets considering Steve Nash and Grant Hill didn’t play in this game (coach’s decision). However, this is still a much needed win for the Nuggets as they still sit second in the Northwest Division behind the 22-6 Oklahoma City Thunder, however they are fifth overall in the Western Division only one game behind last years champions. Tomorrow night the Nuggets will have a chance to catch up to the Mavericks, as that is who they will be playing against on the road. With the Nuggets 9-5 away from home and the Mavs 11-5 in Dallas this should be a fight to the finish for the number four spot in the Western Conference. The Nuggets will also be hoping for Nene to return after sitting out tonight due to a calf strain.
