The Nets handed the Bulls their third loss of the season without Derrick Rose, the Bulls are now 7-3 without him on the year. It is going to be games like these against another top-tier point guard where you are going to need Rose to be there and matchup with offensively and defensively down the stretch and into the playoffs. Deron Williams gave the Bulls trouble with 29 points and 8 dimes to help lead his team to the victory. The Bulls had a quiet night it seemed and it just felt like the energy needed to win this game was not there. They just didn’t seem very sharp at all in the early stages of the game and they fell behind and had to try to play catch up throughout the game. Perhaps it was the down play of Joakim Noah who is usually high octane and ready to explode with energy to get the team jump started but he had 0 points in 21 minutes of action.
This loss only gives the Bulls 8 on the year to 25 victories and I would not be too worried about this game as they have a few downers every now and then but the Bulls do bounce back with superior defense and enough offense to win games. Once Rose comes back this team will have its lead man running the offense, and even though the replacements have played considerably well they are not Derrick Rose the reigning MVP of the league. Rose is going to have to figure a way to treat the back pain or manage it and deal with the pain while trying to play through it.
