Sens No Deadline deals?, Happy where they are at

The Ottawa Senators seem to have re found their game as of late, winning 4 in a row of late and picked up 11 out of 12 points in the last 6 games, and have a 7 point cushion on the 8 seed in the eastern conference standings. The Sens now sit in 7th place with 20 games remaining in their season. They are also 2 points behind the division lead. It’s been a great season so far in the Ottawa Senators franchise, the team was projected to rank poorly this season.

Trade deadline is just 4 days away and the Sens could use another skilled forward and a up and coming defenseman in my eyes, but only if the price is right. It’s been a turnaround season for sure, Senators Owner Eugene Melnek, who was on Fan 590 Toronto on Monday, said, “it was a rough start for everyone at the start of the season, a painful 1-5 start, but veteran players stepped up and lead by coach Paul McLean helped turn things around, He saw what he had for lines and things started to yell”.
Now the Senators are in the playoff hunt with just 20 games left if all continues to play out, the Sens could find themselves battling for Lord Stanley without making any deadline deals. “We have two young players in Sweden just craving a chance to be over here, Silverberg and Zibanajhad along with players in Bingo who want a 2nd look, especially Robyn Lehnar, We don’t need anything else right now, stick to the major plan, draft well and build well, We want to win and we will win but not going to bankrupt the future for short gain”.
It seem like the organization will not be making moves at the deadline, the way the team is playing, they have enough experience with veterans and now the youth is starting to figure it out as well. Grind it out till the end of the season and see what happens. I do expect the Senators to make the 6th or 7th spot in the eastern conference, but they are still 2 years away from being a cup contender. Just because the Sens are planning to be quiet on trade day, you have to remember that off season could mean big things for the Sens, with loads of cap space, could we maybe see a Free Agent market slash?
