The Bulls pulled off a 96-89 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night to improve their record to 29-8 on the year. The Bulls were led by Derrick Rose who put up 29 points one night after scoring 32 points against the Hornets; Joakim Noah contributed 10 points and 13 rebounds. The Bulls had solid contributions this game and the role players played their part as Derrick Rose led the Bulls with the role players doing enough to win. Other than Rose there were three double digit scorers but no one really shined to do anything flashy but the Bulls are not a flashy team, they win by defense and Derrick Rose leading them. The Spurs put up a good effort and had the lead for part of the game as Gary Neal and Tim Duncan led the Spurs in the battle but came up short in the effort.
This game was a typical Bulls game as they held their opponent to 89 points and scored 96 points to just have enough for the victory. With Rose coming back and being healthy the Bulls are an energized team and have a true leader at the point guard position to lead the team. These past two games have shown why Rose is arguably the best point guard in the game and was the MVP last season. If the Bulls keep up their defense and have Rose healthy they are poised for a playoff run to the eastern conference finals and potentially more.
