Mr. 4th Quarter, Kyrie Irving

Just two weeks ago, the Cavaliers were in the one of there worst stretches of the season. From the final game before the All-Star break (New Orleans), to the March 5th game at home against Utah, the Cavs had lost six in a row and went over 15 days without a win. Everyone in Cleveland was referring to the “Wait Till Next Year” talk, and players like Jamison and Sessions were probably wondering if they were playing there last few games in Cleveland (Trade Deadline Thursday March 15th). The low point in the losing streak came against a bad Washington Wizards team in the Verizon Center. However, Kyrie Irving and the resiliency of his Cavaliers found a way to turn things around ..

 

When watching a team like Cleveland who has the youngest roster in the NBA, your going to have a lot of inconsistency from game to game. But when you have guys like Irving and Jamison you know you can count on them every single night. The Cavs were in desperate need of one of these guys to breakout and stop the losing streak when they visited the Pepsi Center in Denver last Wednesday. Jamsion was able to provide this with an 8-13 shooting night, JUST IN THE FIRST HALF! Antawn, absoloutely stole the show and it was Kyrie Irving who scored 10 of his 18 points in the final 2:36 to close things out in a  100-99 win that finally ended the losing spell.

 

This win would give Cleveland the edge they needed, as they would then finish a short two game roadtrip with an even bigger win over Durant, Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Continuing its winning ways with a victory over Houston on Sunday has the Cavaliers within a half of game of the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks for the 8th spot in the East. The Knicks have lost 6 games in a row and can’t find any rythm with guys like (Melo, JR Smith, Amare, etc.).

 

Cleveland will take on Toronto tonight at home and then head on the road tommorrow night for an 8pm game against Milwaukee who could very well be in three way tie with NY, and CLE tommorrow at Tip.
