Going too far…Magic pulling out all stops to keep Howard

The circus is definitely in town in Orlando.

According to an ESPN report: [1]

One source close to the situation told ESPN The Magazine’s Ric Bucher that the Magic have promised Howard that they will add a quality player before Thursday’s deadline and that Howard can decide the fate of both GM Otis Smith and coach Stan Van Gundy at the end of the season if he signs an extension.

Say what?

Pull your pants up Orlando because no player is worth that type of humiliation.

If this even has an ounce of truth to it the Orlando Magic should be under investigation by the league.  I can’t imagine an organization that has shown so much class over the years resulting to these type of desperate tactics.

I am anxiously awaiting a report refuting such a sensational accusation and who knows if we will get one.  If the Magic eventually have to fold and trade Howard then this will all blow over.

But…

If the Magic do acquire one of Howard’s cronies and Otis Smith or Stan Van Gundy find themselves updating their resumes then we will have our answer.

Where there is smoke there is not necessarily fire especially in today’s media world.

If Howard is given authority over the front office he might as well take on all organizational duties
