The Miami Heat are the best team in the NBA.  At least they are at home, with a record of 20-2.  Their 20th win came against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, but it was far from easy.  The Heat have dominated plenty of teams this year, and while the Suns coming to town might seem like an easy victory, Miami was in big trouble throughout the game.

Chris Bosh was the most consistent player for the Heat, but that shouldn’t really come as a surprise.  He went for a game-high 29 points, while shooting 12-16 from the field and 5-6 from the free-throw line.  That is efficiency defined.  As I have stated before, Bosh is the most important player to the Heat’s success.  Yet, that statement is a little misleading.

Dwyane Wade and LeBron James are interchangeable, at least to a point.  James will probably lead Miami in every statistical category at the end of the season, but it continues to be DWade, his energy, and his leadership that will determine whether or not Miami will be NBA champions at the end of the season.  Tuesday night was a perfect example.  The Heat were down 10 points in the 4th quarter, then went on a 17-0 run sparked by Wade and his intensity.  It won’t show up in the box score, but it was obvious if you were watching the game.  Despite the national media reporting otherwise, Dwyane is the leader of this team.

The good news for Miami is that they have three of the best players in the NBA.  Any one of the “Big 3″ would be the greatest single player on almost any other club.  The better news is that because they are all on the same team, one, or even two of these guys can have an off night, but their team can still win.  Miami is currently 2nd in the Eastern Conference, behind Chicago.  To put it simply, that means anybody besides the Bulls will have travel to South Beach and beat the Heat.  The Miami Heat that is, the team with the best home record in the NBA(20-2).  Good luck.
