The Chicago Bulls won once agin Wednesday night against the Raptors Wednesday night, improving to 39-10 on the year, with a final score of 94-82. Over the past two games the Bulls defense has only given up an average of 70.5 points per game. That is an astounding number and the defense of the Bulls continues to help will them to victory and their defense is needed more than ever with Derrick Rose being out for so many games thus far this year. On the offensive side of the ball the Bulls were led by Luol Deng who posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and also C.J. Watson who had 15 points replacing Rose at the point guard position. The Bulls had solid contributions all around as they had a total of five players in double figures including Deng, Watson, Lucas, Brewer, and Korver who all helped in this victory. Outside of these five players Joakim Noah may not have had double digit points but he had an overall efficient game with 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. This Bulls team continues to play together as a team and that is what makes them dangerous because they do all of the little things right that do not show up in the box score and they just have the fight to win.
Derrick Rose sat out his fifth straight game on Wednesday night as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Toronto Raptors. Rose has been battling a groin injury that he suffered on March 12 against the New York Knicks but the Bulls are giving him time to heal up and it has been a smart move because they have not needed him when he has been hurt this year as they are 10-4 in total after all the games Rose has missed this year. As Rose continues to heal the Bulls are relying on other players to pick up the slack and this can be a good thing come playoff time because as these players stepping up, with Rose out, get comfortable scoring and being involved more in helping the team win it will take some pressure off of Derrick Rose once he returns. Rose has been relied upon time after time to step up and carry his team to victory and take that final shot putting him in positions where he forces shots and it makes it look as if he is doing too much, because he is. The Bulls without Rose builds up other player’s confidence and will be an important element come playoff time when teams focus on locking down Rose with double teams and help defense, but the Bulls will have players with game experience that can knock down shots and lead to more isolations for Rose to get to the basket. The chemistry will be there it is just a matter of whether or not other players will step up come playoff time or if it is going to be a one man show starring Derrick Rose.
