Angels ready to rock and roll in 2012

Yeah, I know, I’ve been a bad blogger. Working all spring with another MLB team has made my time short to do anything but work.
Apologies aside, the Angels look dominant–except in the pen.
Have any of you heard of this guy, what’s his name….Albert Pujols? He may have a future in this league. I am joking about the first part, obviously. Pujols is amazing in person though.
I watched him play the White Sox earlier in the spring. His first at bat he as plunked by Chris Sale. His next at bat he launched a laser in to the grass in left field. His next at bat, he launched a moon shot over the wall in center off Lance Carter. It was the longest home run I have ever seen hit at Camelback Ranch. All teams should understand one thing, hit Mr. Pujols and you will pay, big time.
Like the Angels signing of Jason Isringhausen. He gives the Halos a veteran presence, and, if he is healthy, a nice compliment to Jordan Walden. Isringhausen is carrying a 6.35 ERA though, so he may not even break with the team.
Walden and Kevin Jepsen still can’t get hitters out consistently. Mind you, I haven’t seen many Angels games, but the little I’ve read, both have struggled at times this spring. Looking at their ERA’s, last years problems still exist for those two.
I still think the Halos should have brought in Heath Bell or Jonathan Papelbon. You cannot go in to the season with all this offensive fire power, plus a great rotation, and have a series of question marks in the pen.
If Kendrys Morales comes back, all of baseball better watch out. The same is true if Mark Trumbo can man 3rd base on a full-time basis. 3 errors in 18 chances means he still has a lot of work to do, but I do believe he’ll make an adequate 3rd sacker one day.
It looks like Bobby Abreu’s days as an Angel are about to end. The 38 year old, who taught a few Halos, who don’t have the last name Wells, that taking a few pitches can wear down a hurler ,while giving a batter more chance to see what kind of stuff a pitcher has that night.
Anyway, reports are that Abreu may be headed to Cleveland. I guess if you want to keep playing, you eventually have to go through the Cleve.
Can’t wait for the season to start so I can fill up on Halo games. It should be a great time at Angel Stadium,
