The official move for the Nets will begin next week at the NBA Owners meetings in New York City. The league’s bigwigs will formally sign off on the latest move for this nomadic franchise. The homecoming will reflex a full circle for this team that started in Long Island.
While die hard Jersey fans will feel sorrow about the Nets departure. Basketball fans in Brooklyn will be excited to have a team that’s gonna be just playing minutes away from such revered grounds as the “Soul in the Hole” or Tillary Park.
The Nets will move into a hoops haven.
The City game is engrained in every baller that comes from this great borough. Many kids dream about playing in the Garden. Now, these same kids can have visions of showing off their skills in the Barclays Center. Eventhough, the Nets won’t change their name everything else about our team will be different.
Arena, Uniforms, City & some of the players will all change from what we have today. As a Nets fan & Brooklyn resident I am truly excited to witness the move of this NBA franchise.
No matter if we have a quality superstar like Deron Williams on the roster or not, I believe that the Nets will improve & thrive in the Big City. It’s no reason to think that having a new building, cap space, a high 1st round pick & playing in NYC aren’t enough positives for another All-Star player to come here and run with the Nets.
So, I ask that Brooklyn fans be patient and support our newest neighbors. It may be a rough beginning for our Basketball team, but New Yorkers know that nothing comes easy for us. Winning in the NBA is no different than it is on the streets that house the Barclays Center.
So, you may want to spread Love….it’s the Brooklyn way!!!!!
