Atlanta found the perfect time to play Orlando. Wait until Dwight Howard can’t play. I’m kidding. With this 109-81 pasting over the Magic, Atlanta has knocked off the Magic six straight times, although this one was the easiest. Without Howard, Atlanta went inside early and often, and the Magic didn’t stand a chance. Six Hawks scored in double figures, led by Jerrano Pargo’s 17 (including 5 of 8 from three). Marvin, Josh, and Joe each had 16. The Hawks shot 50% from the floor, 40% from 3, and only missed one foul shot. It’s the kind of game that Larry Drew wishes he could bottle and use sometime down the lone. As the season heads for the finish line, Atlanta now stands one game clear of Orlando in the second, as they look to close in on home field advantage for the first round. Next up is a back-to-back, but it’s a home-and-home with Toronto, so two wins are ripe for the taking. For their part, Orlando is stumbling in their first extended look at like without Howard. They’re on a 1-4 slide.
