The NBA regular season has come to an end and despite the lockout, this season was just as “BIG” as the NBA predicted it would be in their marketing campaigns.
The story lines have run deep from the inspiring Jeremy Lin to the downright shocking “basketball reasons” veto of the Chris Paul trade to the Lakers.
As with any end to a sports season, awards must be given to those deserving of them. There are many writers on the Prosportsblogging.com roster but a few of the more active NBA writers for playoff teams have banded together to give their predictions on this season’s NBA award winners.

I find it interesting we all picked LeBron for MVP. Funny thing is I think Chris Paul is the most valuable to his team. LeBron had the best statistical season but not the Heat would still make the playoffs without him.

I cheated a bit on the All-NBA Team shifting Love to Center. I don’t think Bynum or Howard had better year’s than Love and seeing how he did play a lot of center this year too I justify my pick there.
Sean Eckhardt Apr 27 20122:25 am
My picks were pretty close to the same, except I actually think Durant is the MVP for the same reason you give for Chris Paul. OKC might make the playoffs without him, but not by much.

Great job by everyone, good stuff.
No Bobcats on anyone’s list, I can’t believe it.

Wonderful Idea, I’m going to have to start doing this for the NFL.
I might be wrong, but does anyone think Kobe deserves a small shot at MVP? He had a terrific year and has look more determined than ever.

Glad you all like the idea and concept hope to continue the united front and work going forward. We have so many talented writers (some bad ones too) but its good to see us coming together. Corey I would love to see this kind of thing from the NFL section and I know there is a ton of traffic on that side.
Corey Rioux Apr 27 20123:21 pm
Unfortunately we have do have some bad writers (and as you said, many talented also), but yes if we can come together more often to improve our site, I’m all for it. The NBA coverage you guys provide is pretty damn good, keep it coming. As for the NFL, I would love to bring a few guys together for this kind of thing.

As far as Kobe he deserves consideration for sure. Finishing 2nd in the league in scoring and leading your team to a division title is MVP worthy always.
Corey Rioux Apr 27 20123:37 pm
I think he’s on a mission this season, I know I’m excited for the playoffs on Saturday. It’s really a toss-up this season (at least the West), should be the best 2 months of basketball like it always is.

I second Warren’s inclusion of K. Love at center (and I’m a proud USC Trojan for life, so heaping praise on a Bruin makes me gag), for all of the reasons he listed. Regarding Ibaka for DPOY – as the Thunder blogger, I watch a lot of Serge’s work, and I don’t think we’ve seen anything close to what he’ll become as a defender. Give him time.
Warren Shaw Apr 27 201211:56 am
I know we have had some discussion on Ibaka and you certainly would be the expert. Off all the viable options for the defensive award I think Tyson Chandler is probably the most consistent in his effort but I gave the nod to Ibaka cause of some the spectacular shows he has put on…call me victim of the hype, lol
Warren Shaw May 2 201212:39 am
Coach Pop won coach of the year and it looks like Chandler will win defensive player of the year. Damn I am 0-2
Nick Jones May 14 20123:05 am
I love Tony Allen being on the All Defensive team! But couldn’t disagree more with Rondo being there!
Warren Shaw May 14 20123:58 pm
Who would you have instead of Rondo
Nick Jones May 14 20128:20 pm
Tony Allen or Chris Paul. Don’t get me wrong, Rondo will always get his steal, he’s crafty. But as far as on the ball, being able to shut down another PG defense, I don’t think it’s first team all NBA D
