So it’s finally that time. The time everyone in South Florida, including the Miami Heat, have been waiting for. The NBA Playoffs will begin this weekend and one team has more pressure than any other. Miami. The Heat have been under intense scrutiny for the past two seasons, but now they will be looking to exact some revenge on the rest of the league, as well as the media. Anything less than a title will be deemed a failure for this team. The mission starts on Saturday as they host the New York Knicks.
The Heat are now six years removed from their NBA Championship. The only guys left who were on that team in are Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem. There is no question which player has the most to lose or gain, and thats LeBron James. This will be LBJ’s third trip to the finals and he is playing with his best team under. Bron is unguardable when he wants to be, and against I expect him yo put up close to 30 ppg. Chris Bosh, also a recent additon, will be playing for his first championship as well. It was of course these two stars joining with Wade that sent the NBA in to a frenzy roughly two years ago. Well I’ve got some good news for Heat fans and some bad news for the Knicks, as well as the rest of the NBA. Miami is going to win it all this year.
The New York Knicks are coming to town later today for Game 1 of their 7-game series with the Heat. Carmelo has been great for the Knicks as they have gone 18-6 under interim Head Coach Mike Woodson, but the fun stops here. New York will be without the services of Jeremy Lin for the series and C Tyson Chandler may sit out Game 1 due to the flu. DWade and LeBron will just be too much for the Knicks; Heat in 5.
Miami should roll through the Conference, although I project them facing the Celtics in the Conference Finals, which will be a rough matchup for the Heat. In the end I have Miami taking down San Antonio in The Finals 4-2. Along the way, who knows what will happen. All that is sure is that it will be fun to watch.
