Jered Weaver threw a no hitter at the Minnesota Twins.
Jered Weaver is a local kid, who should be a poster child for guys who want to stay home and not chase the almighty dollar.
Chris Ianetta was correct in saying that Weaver has the stuff to throw a no no every time he takes the mound.
It was nice to see the huge smile on Ervin Santana’s face as he watched his friend throw the Halos 2nd no hitter in as many years.
In a sad day around Southern California, Weaver put a smile on the crowd at Anaheim Stadium.
I always love how every player sits as far away from a guy tossing a no hitter. Actually, no one even looked at Weaver.
They could have talked to him all night, as the Twins were swinging at air most of the night. Alexei Casilla’s 9th inning smash did put a little scare in me, but Torii Hunter easily tracked that ball down.
Mark Trumbo’s play on a bunt try was also impressive. Looks like that extra work at 3rd is paying off for one guy the Halos can ill afford to sit down.
I thought Jerome Williams Tuesday’s shutout was impressive. Weaver just one upped the guy. Will Dan Haren throw a perfect game tomorrow? If he does that, will Santana strike out every guy the next night?
Lost in the no hitter hoopla was the 9 runs they Halos scored. 15 hits, including home runs by Howard Kendrick and Kendry’s Morales. Those 2 combined for 7 of the 15 hits. Every player on the Angels, except Ianetta, had a hit.
The Angels also drew to within 7 games of the Rangers.
Can Weaver match Johnny Vander Meer’s streak of 2 straight no hitters? He’ll have that chance when he makes his next start 5 days from now in….Minnesota.

O'kay I'll talk about myself a little. I've been working in the television/radio industry for over 21 years. I started at 2 so I am just a tad over 21 (That is a joke). My career has taken me around and and even out of the United States. Right now I call Vegas home, but I just never know where life will take me next. Until 2002 my irrational love for the California/Anaheim/LAA had taken me down some very dark roads, but with Arte Moreno in charge I finally saw the a light at the end of the road. I really love most every sports and having as much fun as possible.
