Angels either throw blanks or draw them

At first I wanted to be mad at Ervin Santana. Right after giving up an RBI single to Yunel Escobar, Santana, on his very next pitch, gave up a home run to Jose Bautista. 3-0 Jays and game over.
I controlled myself though, figuring that maybe it’s not all his fault. Then I heard a stat that is mind-blowing.
In Santana’s last 5 starts, the Angels have gotten him zero runs. Yes, in every start but one, the Halos have been shutout. So even if Santana gave up 1 unearned run, on no hits, he would still be 0-6.
He has put himself, and the team, in a hole many times this season, but lately he has been pitching well. The Angels offense is worse than anemic.
Even weirder, the last 4 games have seen the Angels throw 2 shutouts, and get shutout twice.
I don’t know where rock bottom is, but are the Halos close? Yes, they beat up on a awful Minnesota team, but they have no answers for a better Toronto team.
The Jays did throw Brandon Morrow and Henderson Alvarez at the Angels, so you don’t expect much offense. I said that with tongue in cheek. Between them, they have 35 career wins.
Through 2 games, the Halos have pounded out 9 hits. The last time they scored a run was in the 4th inning Wednesday night against the Twins. That covers 24 innings.
I keep hearing that Albert Pujols is gonna pull out of his season long slump. My question is, when? He is hitting .194, with 5 RBI, which ties him with Bobby Abreu, who now plays for the Dodgers. His average is better than only 4 other Angels.
When do the Angels give the guy a day off? I understand he’s Albert Pujols, but wouldn’t a day off to clear his head be good for him?
Jim Edmond’s even came to Anaheim to help the guy, to no avail.
Maybe my ears are playing tricks on me, but I thought I heard Angels fan slightly boo the guy. And if you can get the laid back Halo fans to boo, you really must suck. Right now, he does.
What’s up with Mike Trout. He couldn’t have gotten to Bautista’s home run, but he took a completely wrong route. Than in the 9th, he fell over in the outfield after fielding a ball. He did get 2 hits, so that’s good. You know things are bad that even with his 2 hits, Trouts average is still only .182. Trout has 26 at bats so far.
When will this team wide slump end is anyone’s guess.
to add insult to injury. Tonight, the winning run was scored by none other than Jeff Mathis. That is cruel and unfair.
By a miracle, the Angels only trail the Rangers by 7.5 games.
